Goodbye August, Hello September
September is here and I can’t say that I’m too sad to see August go. We have quite a big/exciting month a head of us between moving and getting settled to football games every weekend. Though I was eagerly awaiting September, August still brought about a lot of goodies and even some top favorites!
Considering it went buy in an instant, I felt like August was a very productive month! Some of my favorite things on the blog were these protein cookies and the start up of my Instagram. If you haven’t already followed me, follow me! And those protein cookies, I’ve made them three times now and so delicious every.single.time.
We all know that feeling, when you get done at the gym after a long day of work and the last thing you want to do is cook. Well, over the past month, our solution has been Hotheads! For anyone who isn’t in our area, it’s pretty much Chipotle – minus the awkward vibe and hipster theme. In the world of fast food, you only have so many ‘healthy’ options but in our world of needing food fast, this is our only option. With fresh chicken, veggies, and rice, it almost sounds like we’re trying to be bodybuilders or something hehe.
My Order: One scoop brown rice, black beans, chicken, veggies, salsa, and a small school of guac!
Avoid gaining weight and still enjoy your Chipotle with these tips!

If you follow me on Insta, you know I’ve been loving these protein bars! With only 190 calories, 7 grams of fiber, 14 grams of protein, and only 5 grams of sugar – these Oatmega bars are the real deal! They use all natural, nutritious ingredients with no sugar alcohols and grass fed whey – does it get much better than that?! Not to mention the flavors are delicious, so far we’ve had white chocolate raspberry, chocolate coconut crisp, vanilla almost crisp, and chocolate peanut crisp.
Chad originally ordered these from Onnit but I noticed my local Target recently started selling them! At first I was like no way are these the same bars but low and behold. Just a side note, my cousin lives near Philly and their Target also carries them, so be sure to look for them!
Quote + Album Choice
“Those who dare to fail miserable, can achieve greatly” – John F. Kennedy
I know, how Pinterest of me. It popped up on my feed one day and I couldn’t help but save it. Moving into a new place, our own place, where there are bills to pay and adulating to do – is a little scary. But it’s part of growing up, it’s part of making choices, taking risks, and creating a life of your own. It was also a nice reminder for all of the days I was lacking motivation and felt the need to do everything else besides sit down and write a blog post. When you put aside the ‘what ifs’ and ‘who’s watching,’ you appreciate your own small victories for more than what they are.
Young The Giant
A new album released this past month and it is so so so good! Chad’s brother helped produce this album and it is truly amazing! I think I’ve listened to it fifteen times now and I’m still not sick of it. Be sure to check it out!
